I have an electrician who's installing a Kohler 20RESA natural gas generator 80' from my 200 amp service panel. The transfer switch will be outside, next to the service meter tray.
He wants to use #8 wire to the generator. Shouldn't it be #6? If the distance is the critical factor, I could remeasure as it could be 75'.
Or shouldn't I worry and rely on the inspector if he's using too light a wire?
Thanks in advance.
