We receently recieved a call from a long time customer (nursing home) that told them they must replace all existing FPE panels in their facilities, this is a state of Texas affiliated inspector. Does anyone know of any state/federal mandates on this situation? We know it is recommended, but have not been able to sustantiate any laws that have been passed. Thanks for your input. I would ask the inspector that called for the change.

Not that I'm against getting work, but if it's not a requirement to change it, why force someone to pay to have it done?

It also may be due to their insurance carrier.

I doubt that any state had passed a law requiring that these things be removed without providing any compensation. The inspector who wants it done should provide any documentation that he has to prove that this actually is a legal requirement. I would guess that it isn't.

Brenham, Texas Ordinance Information 979-337-7567

What type of State Inspector was he/she?

Even though it was a State inspector, your city may have its own ordinances regarding Federal Pacific panels and/or Nursing Homes. Since it concerns a nursing home there may be other issues.

Brenham, Texas is somewhat unique in that they control all the public utilities.
