L 6 20r Recp. outlets

I have two L6 20R recps. The people that want them installed want both of them on the same 240v circuits. Is this legal? We do not have a total load, because they will be for power strips
which will provide 120v power to computer equipment.

"L" is for locking (twist-lock), "6" refers to the particular pin configuration ( 2-wire, 3-wire, 4-wire, etc.), 20R means that it is a 20 amp receptacle.
