I AM BIDDING ON INSTALLING 250' OF UG. PVC CONDUITS BELOW PARKING GARGAGE FLOOR. MY ESTIMATING SOFTWARE SEEMS TO BE FAIRLY HIGH. WOULD YOU GIVE ME A GENERAL COST OF WHAT YOU MAY THINK. WE ARE RUNNING 6 SETS OF 4"PVC. STARTING OFF WITH 6 LONG SWEEP 90'S. GOING 50' ADDING 6-45'S THEN GOING 200' AND UP WITH 6 LONG SWEEP 90'S. WE ARE TRENCHING 30" WIDE X 24" DEEP. I KNOW MY MATERIAL COST, BUT MY SOFTWARE IS PRICING LABOR AT AROUND $16,000. WHAT DO YOU THING. RON / CENTRAL ILLINOIS

Under ground in a parking deck and only 24" deep, are you sure that your proposed raceway will be a clear one? Seems it could easily go deeper!

Sloping and floor drains could be a real concern.

Most parking decks have various designs for the floor of a parking deck. I could only think that you need to be in there with your run at a different time than just carving your trench verse oh here's the finished floor elevation.

Are you going to stack the run at either end?

Your quantity or price I can't comment about per say except to add it's bigger construction and the numbers should change accordingly.

We are coming out of a disconnect on one end of the parking gargage , running across to other end of building to second set of meter banks. We are installing this as they are laying drains/ piers. inspector says I actually only have to be 18"below floor since I am coming out of a disconnect going to other meter bank. So no one is going to hit these. they pour floor the next day as I progress. And yes conduits will roll up on other end and stack in 2 sets of 3 in order to hit my meter tap box.

A lot depends on what rate you are using for labor. If it is a so called prevailing wage job, obviously, the cost will be much higher than if it is a normal project.

I often have to guess at labor hours, and I can never seem to come close.

You are (roughly) looking at installing 25X6 10' sections of PVC conduit. If it takes 30 minutes for each one that is 75 hours by itself.

You may have extra cleaning out of the trench if others are digging it. Not to mention that you may have standing by time if other trades fail to show or machines break.

Better to be a little over than any under on your bid.

How many man/hours did you come up with?
I came up with approx 220 m/hrs.
That would put my labor with OH&P around $8500.

With material/tax/backhoe/tamper would put my sell price around $14K
