Not even a ladder leveler?

Let's just say that I have never used the proper ladder levelers. Just used kleins, hammer, shovel and various wood and metal products. The levelers look nice. If OSHA was on the job, I required all the surfaces to be made level..

working off a ladder on a new house can be a pain in the neck because many times its rough and off level. i would hate to be the guy on the ladder in a highly visible area using my linemans to level it and the O squad show up.

You don't work in the real world, do you?

Depends on the height.. 5' throw the ladder up. 10'.. Is your health worth risking to a pair of linemans under your ladder foot? Grab a shovel and create a safe platform for the ladder. If you can't create a safe footing for your ladder maybe you should be using something else to get up there.

Use ladders only on stable and level surfaces
unless secured to prevent accidental movement.

There are no approved methods--sorry!

There is a product coming soon for extension ladder, that will allow you to put your ladder on any surface. And the ladder won't slipp out from underneath you,and it will not twist on you when you shift you weight to one side or the other.
