For those who deal with this on a regular basis, do you go beyond the basic snap connector that comes with each light and pierces the main landscape wiring or do you use it, bury it and call it a day? I have a job coming up where there are probably 15 low voltage landscape lights that are already installed but the wiring is just laying on the ground and customer wants it buried. I am concerned with the snap connectors and putting them underground, should I cut those off and use direct bury rated wirenuts? I just don't want to bury the existing wiring to only have problems with it later and me be the one to blame. Any input will be appreciated. Also are you using any or can you recommend any specific LED Landscape lights as he also wants to add some more lights to the landscape? Thanks.

I bury these all the time. They are designed to be buried. If you ever have a problem the fixture can be pulled up and the fixture wire will lead you directly to the connector. Have had them at my home for 11 years with no issues (Hadco brand).

I hate those splice kits that they sell with the fixtures. I used to buy those Plymouth splice kits. I would use butt splices and then slap some of the waterproof tape on it that comes with the Plymouth kit. Probably not approved but I have yet to have to go back on these splices.
