landscape wire used indoors ?

I have a job to re - do landscape lighting for a house that the builder installed two transformers inside the basement wall and ran wires up and outside. They are not being used. I think I have read labeling of landscape wiring to "not run inside buildings" I wonder if these quit working and I should not try and re use these. Thank you.

By inside the building, I think they mean not inside the walls like permanent wiring.
If you are unsure as to the condition of the wires it would be easy to check them.

Based on Art 411.5 it appears the correct install would be for the conductors to be installed in a Chapter 3 wiring method unless the transformers are listed Class 2 power supplies
