I've been running in circles in the code to figure this one out. I am missing something obvious.

I have parallel feeds, (3 sets of 500's) that I am looking to enter into my MDP. Specifically in the back. My can is 10 inches deep. My question is whether or not I can enter the back of the can at the bottom and terminate onto the lugs, as dictated by the depth of the panelboard.

408.3G points to 312.6
312.6 is regarding gutter clearances which is amply provided in my MDP.
So I fall back on 314.28A2exception to T312.6a 1 terminal
which is 6", so yes to me. But 314 is not 408 for panelboards.

Thanks,
Aaron

Keep in mind the 'panelboard' is the assembly of devices that is mounted in the cabinet so Art 312 is applicable. 312.6 would be the correct Tables, however, as I read it, in this case you need to use the distance based on the number of conductors per terminal.
