Hi All,

I'm currently trying to run wire to my new shop. It's a good distance from the house and I'm currently putting 100 amp service in, with the thought that some day I may need to increase the service for another shop, guest house, etc in that area.

With those thoughts in mind, I purchased and buried 4/0-4/0-4/0-2/0 Aluminum MHF cable. However, now that I'm looking at my service breaker and my subpanel. I'm struggling to figure out how to connect the wire to the breaker. I've looked into Pin Adapters and Wire Lugs, but I don't really think I have the room to fit all the wires into that tight of a space. Breakers are type BR.

I've heard of people bringing the larger aluminum wires into a separate box near each panel and reducing to a smaller gauge copper to go into the breaker. Is this the best approach? Seems somewhat sketchy.

Thanks for any help!
