Larger air compressor motor

I have found an air compressor with a replacement 1.5 hp motor. It origionally had a 3.7 hp (15 amps/220 V). If I buy it, I will need to upgrade to a 5 hp (28 amp) motor.
Will I need to upgrade anything else?

Horsepower is only part of the issue. You need a motor with the right frame size to fit the compressor.

The previous motors were probably directly connected to the pressure switch, assuming this is a single phase compressor. If the five horse does not have internal overload protection, and the pressure switch is not rated for a five horsepower motor, a starter will be needed.

What capacitors and relays? Is this just a motor driving a compressor with a belt?
