I have a 63 amp Laser welder that needs to be connected to a 480 volt electrical service.

The NEC addresses a standard Arc and resistance welder.

it does not address a high speed seamless laser welder anywhere i can find.

Are there any changes that can be made or addressed to modify or adjust the OCP and wire size for this circuitry?

OR, do we continue to treat this as a single ARC welder with minimum 200% OCP and 125% wire size?

Your help and response will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Since it's not an arc welder, those rules aren't really appropriate. I'd be more inclined to treat it as general industrial machinery.
Does the manufacturer have anything to say on the matter? I'd check with them first.

The customer is in contact with new equipment supplier and manufacturer and trying to get final determination from Germany on required circuitry and OCP as normal machinery equipment.

Thank you for the affirmation of my thoughts.
