I'm looking for a latching switch. What I want is a switch that turns off when I turn it off, and on when I turn it on, but if I lose power, it will default back to off again. You can do this with a relay & momentary switch but I'm trying to save costs and component count. Do they make such a product (which may very well have a built in relay) or should I just buy the momentary switch & relay and do it the normal way?

Right here.
What sort of application?

I'm pretty sure you can get the appropriate contact blocks for a Bulletin 800 switch (XA-7, maybe?). Don't have an A-B catalog here at home, but maybe you do.

Sounds like you need a simple stop/start contactor similar to those seen on larger industrial tools. They allow the tool to start with the push of the start button and will not restart automatically if the power is lost.
