Laundry Areas

If a laundry room is 3'6" wide x 3'0" deep and has a 30 amp, 208 volt, 1-phase receptacle for a stacked washer and dryer unit, does this meet the requirements of 210.52, F? Is there any requirement anywhere in the NEC that requires anything more?

I think this is a good place for a proposal. One could add a stipulation that if a special receptacle and circuit is provided for laundry equipment - such as in the OP, that the 120v, 20 amp receptacle/circuit is not required.

The required receptacle isn't necessarily intended ONLY for connection of a washer. There are other laundry appliances that may necessitate a 120 / 20 receptacle. I just don't know where you would put it when the laundry "room" is really just a closet as indicated in the OP.

I would NOT want to be the homeowner of a house with no 20 amp laundry circuit when I moved in and could not connect my washing machine, your forgetting a lot of newer machines are stackable....
