Installed these satco LED trims at my parents..... The dimmer does not dim the light as low as the incandescent would get. Will an LED specific dimmer bring the light level down more?

Led specific dimmers may dim lower, however nothing dims as low as a incandescent.

LED's must be dimmable and the dimmer must be compatible. Most manufactures provide a list.

Thanks guys ..... These are listed as dimmable. I'll probably just stick one in and see what happens.

Lutron diva CL dimmer is the best. It also has a dial to trim low ends.
There is newer version of it CL 253. Maybe it's even better

I ordered 10-4" LED can lights from Graybar (supply house). Along with Lutron Diva 0-10 volt low voltage dimming switches. We had 2 cans in the hallway and the other 8 in 2 patient rooms (4 per room). It is a plastic surgeons office and they wanted it so dim it was almost completely dark. We tried the Divas wired at 277 with LV wires for dimming. It wasnt dark enough. We tried 120 volts also. Still not dark enough. I went to Home Depot to get 2 Lutron Maestro dimmers and was able to program the switches down to the level the customer was pleased with. The Divas is what was recommended by Lutron. This is an oddball application because of the super darkness required, but here's the point. The LEDS are factory set. There is no way to know what may or may not work. 2 cans, 4 cans,120 volts,277 volts, LV dimming etc. all play factors into it. I'm hearing that residential cans and trims work better than commercial types for whatever reason as far as ease of dimmer compatibility.

that's what i'm using in my house. they work pretty well, and you
can dim below where the LED's will fire, and they don't flicker.

but nothing is going to beat tungsten with across the line dimming.

if you go into 0-10 volt fixtures, there are some architectural
fixtures that go pretty damn low, and the cost is pretty damn high.

The 253 is just a higher wattage unit for LED 250 watts of LED or 600 w incandescent.
