Hi

There's an led high hat that goes out after about 15 minutes.

I'm wondering if it's like a normal incandescent high hat and thermal protection is turning it off. But after it goes out, toggling the single pole switch that operates it off then on turns it back on.

I don't see how the thermal cut out would have anything to do with it. LED's are way cooler than incandescents temperature wise. But it could be a bad thermal cut out.
Sounds like the driver. I'd change the bulb.

Not the thermal overload then. The bimetallic overload stays lifted (open) until it cools back down; cycling the switch off the on would not speed up the process nor 'reset' it. Also, I've never seen one lift from anything other than overlamping (100W incandescent bulb in a fixture rated for 60W).

I vote the driver too, tho if it's integral to the LED, you'll wind up replacing the light in the process.
