As I work up a proposal for a building remodel, I would like to incorporate dimming on the OH lighting system. I am curious what dimmer controls you guys are reaching for? I am always surprised how many shops don't care to have dimming, but I am trying to work some numbers in the proposal to determine KWH savings when max lighting is not needed.

I have also been in shops that have motion activated lighting. I just want to offer some optional strategies.

Can you use light harvesting? Dimming modules with photocells are often used where natural window lighting can be used, often with motion control as you mentioned. Home Depot uses light harvesting in the stores that have skylights. On stores that don’t, they slowly dim the stores over weeks and months until they get complaints! LOL!

I should clarify this is a manufacturing facility. Due to risks from hail in the area causing water damage to expensive machines inside, you don't see it much here. Firmly agree that natural light is really nice! Actually, if there was a near bulletproof skylight, they might go for that because it currently has them. Prob 90% of them are broken....lol
