If you have duct detectors above hung ceilings where are the remote LED usually mounted? In ceiling? In wall? What wiring used between the duct detector and LED? 2 pair fa cable? Thanks.

Usually on the ceiling below the duct smoke. I've seen them on walls and columns as well. Mostly a preference.

Run 1 pair of 2#18 between, FPL or FPLP depending on your ceiling.
