There are some LED lights sold by online merchants that require a 7"+ hole to be cut in the ceiling, and they are held on by clips, sanwiching the sheetrock. So far, so good. But, no provision to mount to an electric j-box. The fixture tiny cable, from the LoVo fixture itself, to a small driver/converter. The 120v tiny individual wires are then supposed to be directly connected to romex, according to the Manufacturer's instructions. They claim no J- box is needed. They are not UL approved, but the Mfgr claims they have "CE, FCC listed" whatever that is. The NEC states all line voltage connections must be in a listed J-box, which this fixture does not have, nor is there any instructions regarding this. The Mfgr claims they do not need this?

Doesn't sound NEC compliant to me... Do you have a link to these fixtures?

CE is a self certification used in Europe and much of the rest of the world.
FCC refers to the radio interference generated by driver and LED. It is required for US in addition to UL.
