Anyone used these before? How do you like them? Thinking of using them for eve boxes for security cameras and ceiling boxes for wifi access points. Seems like they would make pretty quick install of receptacles and switches too.

Nice for the original installer at trim out, not so good for subsequent users or electricians, as Larry Fine said in post #2, I hate them.

As @norcal said, they're nice for the original installer. You can install a sevice with a Phillips screwdriver by jamming it with the palm of your hand, then a quarter turn finishes it off.

Occasionally one will not spring like it should and the screw won't hold. But not often enough to really matter, in my experience with them.

I'm hopping on board with the others on this. It's a nice feature for speed but only for the initial installation. In reality you're setting up the next guy (who has to change out a receptacle) to have to use an 8/32 or a sheet metal screw to hold the device in place. If you're one of those "speedy" electricians who just wants to get the job done as fast as you can so you can save a few bucks, then these boxes are for you.

For the record, I use these on a regular basis but I don't jam the screw in for speed. That's not to say that the same loose fitting device scenario won't happen because it sometimes does. However, jamming the screw in almost guarantees that it will happen. BTW, It will also happen if you are not careful when using a screw gun to install the screw.

I hate when drywall screws are used to mount devices when the threads get stripped/or quick click feature failed, so have installed thread inserts like Heli-Coil.
