I started a thread titled "bucket truck or lift rental" and got alot of good info. Thanks.

Maybe I just don't ask the right questions.

Would love some guidance here .
how much do you guys charge for a service call that requires a bucket truck or lift as opposed to a service call that doesn't require one. thanks in advance

We charge the same as always with the addition of a line item for 'lifts' and we bill rental lifts out at about 15% over what we pay for them. Some of our customers require a copy of the rental invoice as proof we used it.

Is the 15% mark up to cover the time getting the lift or for the knowledge of what to use?

lift rental

Short story, bidding a 120' run of underground for 100 amp .... the guy tells me
"your way too high" someone said they'd do it for under a 1000.00.. i preceed to tell him the ditchwitch rental was 200.00. his reply was... im gonna hire someone who owns one that won't charge me to use it!
Even if i owned one im not using it for free and no one else does either.
I own a 24' one man genie lift, there is a little something tacked on to ever project
i use it own, the battery replacement for it this year 208.00 .... nothing is free.
My shop is full, that means i have to store it in another storage building i have, and that means i have to go and get it with someone to load it and then the same to return it, i always include a charge for that, so remember pick-up and drop off at the rental company.
