Just had a demo on LevNet (Leviton) radio frequency wireless switches.
The switches are self powered, no battery, range 100 to 150 ft. Install a reciever module (relay) and no wires needed. One good application is 3 way switching to a garage where there are no travelers. My coworker installed one to turn on his deck lights from a distant area of the house.
LevNet also has wireless motion sensors, 4 button remotes, a card holder for a motel room to enable the lights.
I think the 3 way to a garage or stairs is a great application.

I am going to be trying them very soon.

Customer doesn't like the fact that the switch for the outside lights is behind a picture and wasn't thrilled about my idea to cut a hole in the picture and use what was cut out to stick on the cover plate. The best place for the switch would be a horrendous wire run, thus nothing has been done for years.

I got an e-mail from Leviton about them a week ago.

Here is the web site: http://www.leviton.com/OA_HTML/ibeCCtpSctDspRte.jsp?section=28765&minisite=10025

There was another company that sold a similar product and showed one of their switches taped to a tree.

Pricing is about $200 for a switch reciever and a switch transmitter. Good solution for some difficult areas. I like the transmitter has no battery. Very clever.
