I have LFMC connecting a few junction boxes. They are all under 12" long,Just short little runs.It would seem anything under a foot would not need a clip of any kind. I think it would look silly to add a clip to 6 or 8" LFMC. The area is very tight on space, and I need the flexibility for the different type of boxes.

350.30(A) says " . . .securely fastened in place by an approved means within . . . (12") of each box, cabinet, conduit body, or other conduit termination . . ."

So is the connector where it enters junction box an approved means? Exception 4 says yes, I think

For an LFMC "nipple", I could see the argument that each connector provides the other connector's support.

A Minerallac or snap-in equivalent can usually be put into use if it can be mounted in some appropriate way.
