How does this apply when the length of the carflex does exceed three feet?
356.30(2) "... installed in lengths not exceeding 900 mm (3 ft) at terminals ..."
BTW Florida is still in the '08 code cycle.

They are talking about securing no longer than 3' not the entire run.

356.30(1) :

(1) Where installed in lengths exceeding 1.8 m (6 ft), theconduit shall be securely fastened at intervals not exceeding
900 mm (3 ft) and within 300 mm (12 in.) on
each side of every outlet box, junction box, cabinet, or
fitting.

Though I always thought 3 feet was the general maximum unsupported distance, this seems to be saying it is 6 feet. That is from 2011 but I think it is the same as 2008 as it was not highlighted as being changed.

One thing to add is just because you are connecting to a motor doesn't necessarily mean flexibility is required. Flexibility for operation and flexibility for connection are not the same thing, you can gain flexibility for connection by removing support methods.

If the Conduit is to be securely fastened at intervals not exceeding 3', then how are you ever going to have 6' of unsupported conduit?

But you can have 5' 11" or even exactly 6' unsupported except by the device connections at the ends.
Significantly farther than three feet. For any single length greater than 6', the 3' rule applies.
