We typically use it from AC or spa discos to the unit.

In fire alarm systems where the conductors are otherwise run in rigid conduit, you can use it for 3' to connect to detectors, monitor modules, and whatnot so you don't have to unwire stuff.

Never had LFNMC smack me in the groin or face when it breaks in the cold, so it's still above ENT in my book.

Through roofs upto roof top ac and we used 3 3" seal tight to hook up a large motor on a production line so the pecker head could be removed without unhooking any conduit and the motor can be easily swapped out
