i been in thge trade in New Jersey for a lil over eleven tears and early on didnt mind givin my blood sweat to the boss but now with work in jersey gertting slim and the fact that im getting more side work that contractors are on there own (shoot me itswrong to do side work but we all done it and i got bills and a family to spport) i wanna go legit just looking for any pointers on exam prep and after im licenced what do i need to have a legal buisness as faras insurance and such...any info or if anyone knows an exam prep course or tuitor in new jersey please let me know....

There are a few things you need to know about operating an EC business here. For one by passing the test and simply holding an EC license you are not permitted to do work. You will also need to aquire a business permit and obtain insurance. The State will also issue you a seal that is used to file for electrical permits. My friend recently passed the exam and just received his seal to file for permits. He took a prep class in Lyndhurst, Bergen County. If you want some more info you can send me a PM.
