Question I remember hearing that there are states that your license is good in besides the one it was issued? Or you can have it transfered to that state? Does anyone know of how to find out what states your license is good in?

It's call reciprocity

Taken from the NC Board of Electrical Examiners www.ncbeec.org

Theirs is as follows:
"Reciprocity Agreements currently exist between North Carolina and the following states: ALABAMA, FLORIDA, GEORGIA, LOUISIANA, MISSISSIPPI, SOUTH CAROLINA, VIRGINIA, and WEST VIRGINIA

Reciprocity application packets are available for download or by calling the Board's office at (919) ***-****.

I suggest that you study your fine commonwealth laws.

And no you can't carry your active license into another state you instantanly qualifiy once you pass your present State Test, then one can go to another state and take their test. :)

And thats only if they have a reciprocity agreement with them.

I don't know what states you are specifically interested in, but if you are licensed in MA, you can reciprocate to NH and VT (get a license by just paying the fee, you just have to show proof of your MA lic. and don't have to take the test)

CT and RI you have to sit for their exam, but you will bypass the apprentice hours because you are already lic. in MA.

I'm not sure about ME (I don't have that one, only MA,CT,RI,NH,VT), but someone told me that you can reciprocate ME and NH, so if you have MA you reciprocate to NH and then reciprocate to ME.
