this is my question: i presently have my rhodeisland masters

and i'm looking to get my connecticut license

nothing is reciprocal with conn. i've already been approved to take the exam

for my E-2 (unlimited electrical journeyman) which states if i'm correct

that when i pass, i'll need to work for an E-1(contractor), or just wait 2 yrs

i'm a little confused because i've been told and have heard that an E-2 can pull permits?

heres my other situation, i also have a jounneymans in the state of massachusetts

which i'm not required to have a masters to pull permits

but if i get my masters in mass and then approach the state of conn.

would i be able to bypass the E-2 and the 2 yr wait?

both states are very similiar in there testing, and both use psi as there testing co.

any help or advice would be much appreciated

thanks chris

I once held a Connecticut (E-2) License so my understanding is that you will NOT be pulling any permits with an (E-2) Journeyman's License. I know Mass. allows Journeyman to pull permits and be an electrical contractor, but my understanding was that you could NOT have any employees. If you wanted to hire other Journeyman to work for you, then you had to have a Master's License in Mass. In Connecticut, only an (E-1) Master can pull permits. If you want to take that exam, you will have re-apply for that License, which has more work experience requirements....... I hope this helps....
