LSI adjustability makes it easier to comply with selective coordination requirements.I have been asked about a relatively new requirement for life safety loads requiring LSI circuit breakers on all amperages. Is this a fact? I'm not sure adding a short time delay option is always a good idea. I took a brief look into the code but haven't found this requirement yet. Perhaps someone could shed some light on this?

Sounds like someone's pet specifications for a project and not actual code.Thank you Jim. I understand completely. We are looking at a small 60-80A feeder, feeding a step down transformer, but because it is in a biolab they are telling us it needs to have LSI. I understand coordinating downstream devices to make sure they operate in proper succession to minimize unnecessary upstream events. I think this is one of throwing out the baby with the bathwater.
