So have a 8 story building then the roof.

Have (2) small conduits that are popping out to the exterior wall on the 6th floor and running outside on the wall up to the roof.

The HVAC guy is also going the same exact route with his duct.

My questions is:

  • This could be done from a lift at that height? Think there are boom lifts that could reach. Sure don’t want to erect scaffold for that.
  • Maybe us and the HVAC guy could share the cost of the lift since we’ll both need it. What would usually happen in this scenario?

Thanks.

Yes, there are lifts large enough for that installation, and it is not uncommon for contractors to share the cost of a lift for a project like that. Often the rates go down substantially when you rent for a longer period of time, and using the same lift means only one drop off and pick up charge.

We have used single man suspended scaffolds in the past to run vertical conduits if you're in a location that is difficult to get an aerial lift into. I used one of these to run a conduit 150' up a large air shaft.
