Light fixture guards in garage

Are there requirements for protecting fluorescent light bulbs in a pole barn ceiling light fixture? Or are exposed T-8 bulbs ok? Thank you

I'm only aware of requirements when they are in food processing or preparation areas and that's via health dep't regulation.
Others may have additional information...

The only requirements I know of would be in an industrial setting. Not sure if it's an L&I or OSHA requirement that lamps eight feet or less from the floor must be either of the shatterproof type, or guarded with either plastic tubes or a diffuser or screen.

I think it is an OSHA rule.
