Light fixtures in closets

In Art. 410.8 it clearly states the perameters for installing fixtures in clothes closets. Does the same codes apply to mechanical closets or other closets used for storage?

Those are 2 totally different kinds of closets. The difference is "clothes closets" the code is trying to provent combustion of clothes in a closet if a lamp were to break. You are required to have a fixture that will cover the lamp in a clothes closet, In an electrical or comm closet- the rules are different.

Well if ya wanna git picky there cowboy there is always 410.12 Altough no bearing on this thread. The definition of a closet is also found in the IRC: A small room or chamber used for storage.....go figure.
