For lighting loads in office buildings you use 3.5 VA per square foot - and this is for purposes of feeder calculation. One question I have and I've seen this on example exams has to do with branch circuits. Say the light is listed for 150W lamps, but the units are going to be installed with 75W lamps for the application. How do you factor this in the branch circuit rating?

Thanks

Brett

Re: Lighting branch circuit

Brett 220.3(B)(4) requires the calculations for recessed lighting fixtures to be figured using the maximum wattage the fixture is listed for.

The lamp size used has nothing to do with it.
