Lighting Cords

Hello to all:
Hoe long can cords for lights be, and where does it say this in the NEC.

The light is a 50W helogen, 12V. The cord length from the socket to the manufacturer switch is less then 6'. The cord from the manufacturer switch to the transformer is 8'. The transformer plugs into the wall outlet. The transformer plugs into the cord (the cord has two prongs tghe plug into the transformer)

The SPT cable is UL listed. The transformer is UR listed.

Also, does the code recognize items that are UR(stands for UL Registered)

The light is screwed onto a head board of a bed. The head board is removable. The are no screws holding the headbord to the wall.

Can someone give their opinion on the installation and where it says in the code allowable cord lengths.

Thanks [*]Lighting Cords

Re: Lighting Cords

I believe this issue is out of the scope of the NEC. Follow the manufacturers instructions and contact them if you wish to make modifications to their product.
