Hi,

I am working on commercial building but my most experience are for inductrial projects. I was wondering if you guys can suggest me some lighting fixture brands for indoor and outdoor walls of a warehouse. I have considered 400 W for lighting fixtures for celling and 100 Watts for wallmounted and exterior. I have also considered fluorescent lights for bathrooms. I have considered everything surface mounted but i am open to change it to resecced if I need to.

Thank you for your comments.

I would start with talking to an electrical contractor you are friends with. What would he recommend.

The owner is not at that stage yet. Now city needs to aprove it first before it goes to construction. I am thinking to use Metal halide for 400 W and incandescent or halogen for wall mounted and exterior lights.

There are so many differences due to local availability and energy codes. That is why I suggested talking to somebody near to your location.

Not an EC, EE or designer/consultant here, basic grunt.

While it was pretty common in days ago to see HID, MH or such, in warehouses, large stores, etc I do not see it much any more.

Fluorescent Hi Bays are prevalent now.

The most common reason given is that if the power blinks, the time lapse for the MH lamps to re light was a big inconvenience.

I know, I had to turn off the lights at a Walmart, which at the time had MH fixtures, in the middle of a busy day and they were not happy it took so long for them to come back on. They switched to fluorescent Hi Bays later.

Yep. Without restrike MH's have that major downfall. Remember the Super Bowl a few years ago? :)
