Lighting in Elevator Machine Rooms & Pits

Does lighting in elevator machine rooms & pits need to be resistant to dust or listed for damp locations? I've been looking through the code and cannot find this requirement anywhere.

In the machine rooms no, however we normally install guards if we are using standard type strip fixtures.

In the pit it is generally a mason jar type fixtures with metal cages.
