Lighting Outlet Near Service Drop

The customer want's a sensor light on the back of the building. The service drop is right about in the middle. The lighting outlet's going to be about the same hight, lower wont work. I couldn't find anything in the code limiting lighting outlet and service drop proximity.

I'll keep it at least 3' anyway but did I just not find it or can I plop the light right next to the service drop?

I also know of no code section restricting equipment near service drop conductors.

Wow, I can't help thinking:

Guy on ladder changing light bulb...
Guy loosing balance on ladder...
Guy hanging on and ladder laying on service conductors.

Unless the electric utility is using bare conductors, is that really a problem?

I figured that would come up but yeah, I think so. I guess a guy might be able to successfully swing from the wires or rest a ladder on them but I ain't gonna be the one to test it.

I've seen a lot of overhead wires with poor insulation and many homeowners use aluminum ladders. I prefer keeping my customers alive so they can continue writing my checks.

What if he's a general contractor and you always have to argue with him about labor balances?

I don't know what to tell you about that, physis. Most generals make their money by talking other people out of their money. I always hated paying a BS artist to listen to their BS. If a general even TRIES to talk me out of money after a contract is signed, or after completing extras, I'll never work for them again.

I've said that at least a zillion and a half times but I only really mean it until the next job comes up. Then I get stoopit again. I simply can't say no to work. I've tried. I think I need to check into a program.
