I am in the process of wiring a fire station, when they get a emergency call, an informer system is suppose to turn on certain lighting via contactor. Would I use some kind of transfer relay for each circuit to accomplish this? What do you think?

How are the lights controlled during non emergency conditions?

Are you designing this or is it engineered by others? If by others you should contact them about this.

The design/reliability of this may not be addressed by the NEC, but may be by some other code.

I would think the informer system would come pre wired with this requirement ,,,,,,,a call to the manufacturer or design engineering firm
is in order.

If it is totally yours to design and wire then give us all the rules etc.

I agree with Dick. Informer systems can be very automated and can be set up to do a lot of unique, things.

I have done one of these before, you just parallel a control relay with the exsisting light switch. The one I wired had a reset button on Informer controller that returned everything to normal when pushed.
