Does anyone know the lighting requirements for eye wash stations in a Class 1 Div 1 group F area? I remember seeing a lighting detail for these but can't find any info today.

If this is your question. I work in a class1 div2 area. All eyewash/shower stations (they are tandems) have a green indicating lights directly above them. The stand alone eyewash stations not in the class1 areas generally do not have lights, they use signs and make you aware of their locations each day.

These are practices in the Chemical industry and not enforceable or required by any other codes or law.

I appreciate your feedback. You are correct we work under engineering supervision, but would you agree that if the station came with a listed light it would be installed according to 110.3(B).

I doubt that the listing would pertain to the application of the light, which was the original question.

The question was -as I understood- weather there are any Code requirements that would guide the instalaltion of lighting fixtures at safety showers. There is none and the area being classified is immaterial to the answer. If a light is supplied with the station, it should meet the area classification with the following minimum parameter identification: Class, Group, Division and Temperature Code. It should be installed to Code following the light fixture manufacturer's instalaltion instructions AND the NEC. None of the shower manufacturer's instructions pertaining to the light fixture can contradict or over-ride the OEM's.
