I am looking for a place in the code where it states what lighting loads under 220-12 are continuous or non-continuous. I understand alot of these are common sense but why doesn't the code spell them out. For instance warehouses are from what I understand non-continuous but common sense from my experience is that I have seen many a warehouse lit all day long. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Everything except: Dwellings, Hospitals, Hotels and Motels and Warehouses are continuous. Easy way to remember this is Table 220.42, where all of these have demand factors, ie. less than 100%, whereas the remaining locations on Table 220.12 would be calculated at 125%.

Just as an added note, this does not mean that ALL the lighting in these locations is non-continuous, the storefront sign for example, would be continuous. Hope this helps.
