In this scenario with all the lights on the same circuit would it make more sense to bring the feed to each light switch or to a box in the ceiling. It a single pole switch- 120v lighting. Thanks.

Are you going to run conduit or cable? If its cable, you'll want to run to the switches first to get the neutral to the switch without using 3 wire.

I generally like to run power to switches first, then up to a light

Cable. Right circuit in ceiling would require 12/3 from switch to light.
