Whenever I do track lighting I always use the heads and devices from the track manufacturer. With the supply issues like they are, I'm wondering if it's possible to use one manufacturer's heads with another's track. I'm not talking cheap Chinese junk, but manufacturers like Halo, Lightolier etc.

It is very common amongst most well known manufacturers that even if their track head is meant for, let's say Halo track, there will be an option to have an adapter for integrating into Juno or Lightolier track. Definitely something that needs to be verified on a case-by-case basis, because there are plenty of exceptions. Most track configurations conform to H, J, or L standards, even if they give their own system a proprietary name. For example, Contech single circuit / single neutral track is the same thing as Juno single circuit / single neutral track.

Also, most commercial grade track heads should list their compatibilities for various types of track. Ref the Compatibility portion of the spec sheet linked below.

Years ago, Halo heads fit Juno and visa versa. Not sure about now. Haven't installed conventional track lighting in years.
