I'm meeting with a new lighting vendor that I may have start quoting us.

What things to you think are important to know.

What I'm thinking.

1. How long in business
2. Can they quote all fixture manufacturers.
3. How many estimators and PM's on staff.
4. Do they have a warehouse for storing on long duration jobs.

I think that asking around about them will provide valuable insight into what they're really like to work with beyond what they show on paper. Are you purchasing the fixtures or is the GC buying them and you will just handle them?

Don't have job with them yet. Seeing if we want them to start quoting us. On a side note, I bid a mixture of jobs where GC pre-purchases and we handle and others were we purchase.

100% agree with Infinity. Asking others in the trade that you know should give you the real world info.
