Hey all you guys in lightning country. Where can I find a source for lightning air terminal wire? Out here on the left coast we don't get alot of calls for lightning protection (we prefer earthquakes). I am especially interested in that cool looking braided wire, or will any bare stranded wire do just as well. Thanks in advance for your help.

with short rise time (hi freq. components) and massive currents, the surge will travel on the "skin" of the conductor, so the cable construction is critical.

I've often wondered about using a tubular conductor...
any thoughts?

Effectively that's what the braided conductor provides ...

... a whole bunch of parallel "tubes" maximizing the surface area for a given conductor cross-sectional area.

Source??

Source??

I think one your questions was source!

Let me get to the office and I will try and find who we heard of. I think it was Harger also. Also I am not sure but I think you have to be bonded to do lightning protection work. Is that not correct guys?
