Maybe one of you has the right idea that can help. I have some missionary friends in India who are using a generator for backup power at their home/office (the generator is now deceased). They seem to have a voltage back feed problem through their earth ground. They are very close to a tall communication tower that is susceptible to lighting strikes which lead to a possible scenario of a current surge through the grounding system. Do any of you have knowledge or an idea as to how my friends could protect their generator from this kind of event and still maintain a safe situation in case of a generator internal fault?
