Lights on upon Fire Alarm

Hi. The AHJ has informed me my school auditorium in CT. needs lights on upon Fire Alarm signal. Wondering if anyone kows where or if NEC of NFPA requires this ?

Sounds like a common strobe light tied to fire alarm activation. NEC does not cover fire alarm devices but the wiring to the devices, while NFPA72 covers the requirements for the devices.

It could also mean tying the FA to the panic circuit of the house light dimmer system.

I'm with Mike on this. IIRCC, the IBC addresses this, particularly for night clubs, but it may extend to other places of assembly. When the fire alarm is activated, all power to audio equipment must be cut and the house lights have to come up. I know in NJ they made it a retro requirement for night clubs.
