Limiting Extent of Class 1 Div 2 Area

For NEMA 3R electrical equipment installed across a Class 1 Div 2 boundary line (equipment partially within a Class 1 Div 2 hazardous area (defined by being within 15 ft of a valve stem) and partially outside the hazardous area). Can the limits of the hazardous area be truncated by building a non-permeable three-sided open roof concrete wall between the valve and the equipment? Intended to "push" the hazardous boundary away from the electrical equipment and to the other side of the wall.

(careful throwing rocks please, as I'm the messenger - not my idea.....)
 
You have to ask who ever did the classification drawings that are required by 500.4. Also, if a change is made, the classification documents will have to be revised to reflect the change.
