I am connecting a new transfer switch and genset to an existing hotel.
Normally I would run from the load side of the main breaker to the line on the transfer switch.
In this case I'm being asked to run from the line side of the main breaker to the line on the transfer switch.
My concern is that if an electrician in the future opens the main breaker and opens the main on the genset, the transfer switch is still energized on the line terminals.
Is it ok to connect to either line or load?
The main breaker protects a mdp.
Thanks
