Would anyone know what the typical distance is between (High Voltage/4160)
poles ? We are laying out a grid for the US Army in a base camp somewhere over there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get yourself a copy of the National Electrical Safety Code. There are many variables that are used to determine pole spacing. (height, wind load, snow laod, cable size, ect...)

What BP said plus it depends on the area being crossed. If it is subject to truck traffic the ground clearance is higher. Size of the conductor will determine the sag. This has to be caculated.

Around 200' would be typical. You would have to size the poles (height and class) for the loading, sag, and clearance requirements. Local circumstances may make other span lengths more economical, and if there are services at different spacings, this would affect the span lengths.
