I've got a HVAC unit that has been set on the roof. I've ran power to it like like other existing units up there. Which consists of the raceway for the line side entering the unit before entering the disconnect. I usually enter the disconnect first and then enter the unit with the load side raceway. I've always thought it was prohibited to enter equipment that does not have a disconnect means within sight. I have a raceway all the way to the disconnect that's mounted to the unit. There is no way to come into contact with the line side conductors. Does anyone have any literature that says it is permitted to enter equipment with line side conductors while completely encased in a raceway? I would greatly appreciate it.
