Is PVC Cement a proper or accepted method of connecting Liquid Tight to Rigid PVC. Specific instance, other contractors are piping Septic System pumps using LT glued to PVC and burried underground. I can not find where this is acceptable and every joint I see can be pulled apart, the PVC Cement does not hold.
Sorry for the long post
Thanks in advance

Re: Liquid Tight or FlexibleNon Metalic Tubing

350.6 for liquidtight flexible metal conduit, and 356.6 for liquidtight flexible nonmetallic conduit, says that the flex and associated fittings shall be listed.

I really doubt that PVC conduit is listed to be glued directly to liquidtight flex. ;)

it would be allowed under NEC section 110.3(B), IE if all the products are listed for the intended use. You'll need to check the mfgs catalog and instructions to find out.
Its pretty simple to do this with a female adapter and male LTNM connector.

Re: Liquid Tight or FlexibleNon Metalic Tubing

I have seen carflex glued into male adapters used for A/C condensing unit whips. Illegal, sure but apparently passed inspection.

Re: Liquid Tight or FlexibleNon Metalic Tubing

I guess those inspectors were not looking at things very well.An ma and carflex the tag cost could not justify that type of work. :p
